apparently, this is what our lives have come too.  i'm too lazy to go downstairs and talk to the husband after feeding the babe, so we chat it up using FaceTime

the kona likes to join in as well. 

Onis and Japan

look who just stepped up in the blogging/app world?

i know, i know, so behind.  . . 

anyway, here's some more of the motherland.

so the red devilish guys are calls "onis"  

our nephew tell us (who is in preschool) that you can throw popcorn to scare the onis away.  in the city of norbetsu it's mascot is the onis.

so they have this crazy aquarium, which includes this awesome shark head.

no, the kona wasn't in japan, but the husband was playing with the new app as well. 

and they don't have san pellgrino (?)

but they do have some awesome origami museums in the airports. 

 

my origami skills include about 5 animals and 1 house.  these guys made whole themes out of fairy tells.  hope you are having some fun summer travels as well!

Dear Friends

It's finally happened.
I've lost my phone so many times it's ridiculous, but I could always find it.
Now, I think it's officially gone.
Or it's been over a week and it didn't pop up.
I realized it might be the end so then I went to get a new phone.
Does anyone else think it is absolutely insane how expensive phone and phone plans are?
The non-Touch screen phones are cheap, while the "easy-to-use" are not cheap at all.
I say world, what is happening.

So, I am terribly sad to say, (because it goes against everything I stand for and fight against.) ...

I now own an iPhone. 

Mind you, it is my husband's old one and since we didn't buy a new phone I don't have to start a new contract. So if that little orange phone of mine ever shows up again...

No offense to you all out in the world...but almost my entire family owns one...i just wanted to be different. sigh.

Big Plans

I had some big plans last night, everybody had meetings, which meant no distractions for Harmony.

False.

6:30 I sit down at the computer, pull up my homework and read the first paragraph.

6:31 Husband comes down and proceeds to become a nerd.  At work his buddies found the new Google Translate. Derek would speak words of German, let his iPhone translate it and laugh. 

6:48 Husband is still translating, and laughing.

6:55 I snap a picture of him, he doesn't like it. End up wrestling for the beloved iPhone.

6:57 I am now on the floor next to the Kona.

8:45 I am still on the floor, no homework even looked at since 6:30, just dreaming away.

7:00 AM I am now up, still no homework down, but rejuvenated.
