Derek's Quote of the Day

While we were on our walk with Kona, a beautiful autumn night and Derek said "Don't you ever get tired of taking such small steps?" Only Derek would be so romantic. Loves

Update on the Walkers. . .

Derek has passed 8 months and still works for the same company!! First time ever! He builds websites and watches TradeGoose all the time (really). Want to see some of his work. . . www.altastreet.com and www.tradegoose.com

Harmony is an estimator for a company called Overland Construction and DaVinci Homes. Pretty fun, let me tell you LEGACY PARKWAY IS AWESOME.
Favorite Project: www.broadwaytower.com

You'll also find us playing indoor soccer on Wednesday Nights, new season starts next week. . .anyone? Anyone? Co-Ed?

So for our Anniversary (which is long due past) we agreed to just get family pictures done instead of gifts (it's kind of hard when your man wants electronic items that are labeled with an apple). 3 years later we have results! This guys was a smokin' deal, 80 bucks and 50 digital pictures. Fits well with the Walker frugalities. . .

The noble Kona.

Can you believe how fat Kona looks? Really, she is kind of fat, but not the ball of wonder here! Too bad she can't play soccer with us.

*Derek will be appalled (dang Graphic Designers.) I can't ever figure out how to align the picture just right, we'll see how long it takes him to change it....9:20 Pm and counting

It's worse than we'd imagined...

U.S. Debt Outgrows Debt Clock

The national debt has surpassed $10 trillion, thereby exceeding the 13 digits the National Debt Clock in New York's Times Square. What do you think?

Young Man

Clark Mariano,
Maitre D'
"That's a debt clock? I thought it was just a sign that counted to 10 trillion."

Old Woman

Françcoise Lefevre,
Systems Analyst
"Look, if everyone just donated one dollar, we would have enough money to buy a new debt clock."

Old Man

Mark Wiedenbach,
Surveyor
"At least the McDonald's sign still keeps track of the billions served…. It doesn't? Oh, man. These are dark times."

Obamanation

Last night at 3 am Kona started barking! So Hannah held her mouth shut, literally, for about 15 minutes, after which she heard some cars start in front of our house and drive away. This is what we found in the morning:Kona is an avid Obama supporter. Hali says it's because she's black. It is Utah after all, and this was one of only two Obama campaign posters out of all of them.

After having gotten mad at her for keeping Hannah up all night, Kona felt vindicated.
Avid. Derek walked in the house and was genuinly appalled to see Kona sporting an Obama cape, saying, "Ah! Kona, you can't wear that!!"

Such a good watch dog.

YES on Proposition 8....WHY??? (click here to read more)

Doesn't this just involve California?
No, California is only the beginning...(click here to see)

I make a simple but urgent plea for understanding. What will really happen to society and especially, the family, if Proposition 8 does not pass? There are many places to get the facts. Click on all of my links for more information.

Won't Gay people loose their rights?
In California, the law provides for marriage-related benefits to be given to civil unions and domestic partnerships. Proposition 8 does not diminish these benefits. This is NOT the real issue here.

Failure to pass Proposition 8 will affect children.
If gay marriage remains legal, public schools will put it on equal footing with traditional marriage. Children will likely receive “age appropriate” information about sexual relations within heterosexual and homosexual marriages.

Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt churches.
The court’s decision will inevitably lead to conflicts with religious liberty and free speech rights. Society will become more and more hostile to traditional beliefs about marriage and family.

Having tolerance without condoning.
We can love others while still maintaining and advocating our standards and beliefs.

Proposition 8 will allow us to continue to teach our beliefs and standards.

This is my belief:

"All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose." The Family- A Proclamation to the World

Take the challenge to get the word out, especially to your friends in California, Arizona, Florida...
Another way to support this cause, is to join a nation-wide fast with much needed prayers on Sept 12. Check out the information here.

Snow?!?!

So this last week has been extremely cold, so good old Mother Nature decided to blast us with some snow. We went and saw the movie "The City of Ember." It was interesting, and hopefully not something that will come true. Last night we went with some friends to a haunted house. When we got there (driving through the blizzard), a huge line had already formed, so we decided to go to our friend Dan's house to print out some VIP tickets so we didn't have to wait so long. We get to Dan's house, Dan does not have a printer. Get back into the car and we head to our office so we can use a printer. An hour later we get in the VIP line and head in the "Castle of Doom." It was pretty cool, there was a 3d part where you go in a tunnel with black lights that spin, Holy Cow i thought I was going to puke and fall off the bridge. But that was about it, pretty much, not too scary, (Derek did have to save me from some creepy guy while in line )but not bad though. I'm sorry to all of you for Derek's Shameless plug, but it's been runnign Derek's life the last 3 weeks. The other day he told me that his mood is directly related to how well Trade Goose is doing. Like last Sunday, he was extremely Grumpy (Derek does not get Grumpy, and especially not EXTREMELY Grumpy), but nonetheless he was, and come to find out it was because TradeGoose had a bad day. And people think girls are hard to deal with. . .

My Shameless Plug for TradeGoose

So, if you've talked to me much within the last month, you've probably heard me talk about this "thing" called TradeGoose. I'm pretty much in love with it by now, so I decided to make this post so that everyone else will fall in love with it too!

Basically, TradeGoose is a system used for trading foreign currency online. Here's what it does and how it works:
  1. TradeGoose is a software trading system that analyzes currency markets, and automatically places trades for you throughout the day - and night. (the market is open 24 hours a day...)
  2. The system uses a strategy that aims for tiny profits, sometimes as low as $2, depending how much money you are trading with. When it sees a chance to trade for that $2 profit, it does it. Now, repeat that 50 or 100 times a day, and you can see how it can add up pretty quickly.
That's pretty much it in a nutshell. The system costs $159 a month to subscribe to, but if you have say $5,000 kicking around that you can throw in, the average monthly return has been $600 or more.

I've been running the thing for a month, and the rate of return for Septemer was 64%! Yes, 64% in one month! Let's just say I am "well pleased."

So, maybe now you can see why I love TradeGoose. If anyone wants to learn about it, I would be glad to tell you more. There's still plenty of risk involved, but with an average 3% WEEKLY rate of return for the past 18 months, I thought it was well worth a try - and it has been.
