mama thoughts.

remember making books for your mom's in 1st grade?  well, apparently, i dedicated my mother's day book to tyler's mom.

 i. am. awesome.

i often find myself comparing other mama's to myself, which, isn't entirely healthy.  most of my friends have at least 2 kids, often many more.  i'm way behind the game. while my girlfriends are talking about schools, i'm debating on if my baby's poop looks healthy.  i'm researching when teeth start to come in, while their kids are already loosing teeth.  they seem way past it all.

but then, i realize, i'm surrounded by so much experience.  they've been mama's for years, so they've already ridden some hard storms.

they know what gets out the touch stains, what babies should be eating (although i will never understand giving babies corn syrup), pooping, when and what they should be sitting.  what this weird rash could be...

so, as out of place as i feel sometimes, it's not a big deal.  because we are all still mama's!  so thanks friends, for experiencing things way before me so you can give me advice.

big shout out to my mama!  although we don't always see eye to eye on everything, she's always there for me.  hopefully, i can always be as solid as her when the hard times hit.

hey, and she still loves me, even after i dedicate her mother's day gift to someone else.

love ya mama.

get ready for mass amounts of photos.

i love these old photo booths, so i pay whatever obscene amount of money for them.  (plus, the husband doesn't believe in printing photos ... dang technology.)

so, this dog is apparently this cheetah's friend. best friend.

this little kid was SUPER excited to see this hippo, as was i.  i happened to be on the hippo first and the kid tried to photobomb my kodak moment. luckily, his parents were like "get out of her photo!!"

here i am alone, with the hippo. but by this time, i just felt awkward that my 27 year old self (although i may look 15) just got a kid in trouble for wanting to play on the hippo.

my husband has a thing for reptiles. not my favorite by any means.

oh and what's this? well, you see, my husband doesn't pay attention to others really.  hannah took this picture and she has an extremely large lens, so he really is much further that it seems.  sometimes, i like to just stop and wait, until the husband remembers his little family.  which, he's usually super far away at this point.

these guys were the highlight of the whole zoo to me!  some of them were brought into the zoo in 1928 and are still alive!  my grandparents probably saw them back them too.  i found this fascinating for some reason.

i've been prepping the little raptor for this trip.  everyday, we try to go on a "stroll."  we have to say "stroll" because otherwise the kona gets too excited about it.  so she just sat in her stroller like a champ.  she slept a lot of the time in it too. guys, i'm starting to feel like a real live parent.

this guy seems so uncomfortable.  he was just balancing on his nose and his horn.

i'll admit, sometimes the zoo makes me super sad.  i mean, yes, i know it's to help preserve the species, etc.  but STILL.  sigh.

we appropiately brought the baby's bear suit and bear hat.  i wanted her to feel like she belonged.

this rare beast can be seen in utah.  looking so sad. wondering where her family went.

they have pandas! he was kind of boring.  he was munching on bamboo

these are a beloved tradition of hali.

so of course. we bought one for her penny collection.

this was only half a day of fun....more to come.

thanks to the han for taking most of the pictures.

Ladies night out

i'd forgotten about these!  we went for a ladies night out and some place...i can't even remember the name.  but it was for charity.  so we paid some money and got some waxing, massages, crepes, chiropractic work, facials...and some manicures.

let me tell you about the manicures...it was terrible, at least for me.  if you ever see a girl with half her head shaved who doesn't drink milk...stay away.

i'll admit, i have shorter nail beds, but this girl globbed it on...and then kept globbing it on!  it was ridiculous!  i kind of sat there wondering if she was for reals.  i almost asked her to stop, but i felt bad.  i sat there watching angie get her nails done all pretty and smooth and couldn't believe this girl went to a beauty school.  needless to say...i came home and immediatly took it off. good thing it was for charity right?

lest we forget

here are some other photos with the stain completely stripped off.  we recommend renting the bigger, stronger sander, don't be afraid.  just be very careful.

when we first looked through our house...we thought "yes, this is going to take a lot of work"
but in the photos...it always looks nicer.

can you spy some ghostly eyes watching us?

let's have a shout out for the mama and the han.
they have helped the house for many hours.
(the fetus and i were kicked out so we opted to take photos.)

do you love the pink windows?
one day i'll get to paint those.

gotta love that husband.  he's been doing good work.

i feel the need to say. . .

i may need this teenage mutant ninja turtle bookbag.
i'm just saying.
some of you may not know this, but i really like the store hot topic.  i enjoy the "variety of crazy." this is where i usually purchase lingerie as bridal gifts and now my sisters have kept the tradition alive.  i've even (for some reason) taken my parents to this store. . . .which reminds me of a particularly funny occasion.

I was on the search for some black leather like leggings (again, I'm not sure why I brought my parents in) for my halloween costume, also to double for my rockstar outfit

acid like screaming music playing in the background, the cashiers in their all black, tattooed (awesome), gauged ears, spikes and crazy outfits (AWESOME)

while i'm happy as can be, i'm a little concerned about my parents following me into this store.  my mom, a short japanese lady, who shops at Christopher banks (aka the teacher store) innocent as they come.

my dad goes straight up to the cashier and starts commenting on the "music." the cashier, thinking my dad is complaining about the music, turns it down, to which my dad replies something along the lines of "no, don't worry about it, back in the 70s i listened to this stuff..it was great..." the cashier drops his jaw and i'm sure is blown away by this man who wears double starched shirts, khakis, sweater vests and is as clean as they come. (note. i forget that my dad is a huge music buff, has tons of records, and has a bigger music collection than all my siblings combined. he loves almost all music, except for celion dion.)

in the end, it wasn't bad, i got my pants and as a bonus the cashier was able to catch up on music theory.

Good Company, food, music, disneyland can do no wrong.

Note to all...these are not in order.
It's much too hard.

Thunder Mountain, might just be one of the best little thrillers out there.

The swings...which kind of make me a little sick.

Look at my husband's face!
Hali was laughing like a manic.
Boy, do I have a video for you.

We ate many smashed PB&J.
more smashed than anything.

toy story ride. always a super long wait.
always worth the long wait, even if someone did puke in the line somewhere.

Disneyland for Christmas, what more could you ask for?

Stuck on the line.

So excited for Cars to open in the California side.
It will be amazing! They are building the entire Radiator Springs.

Giant turkey leg.
It was delicious.
All my hard healthy work out the door.

Here I am trying to be healthy, eating the avocado.
which was so smashed and brown it would have made me cry, except for I was at Disneyland.

The world of colors was amazing.
Absolutely stunning, even if it was raining, and we were on the front row getting even wetter.

I bought this print for our house..that will hopefully close soon!

The Matterhorn.
This is what my mom thinks of when we say Disneyland.
As a young girl, her family always came to Disneyland, so you see, our love goes deep and for many years back. So sad Mitsie, jan and my dad couldn't join us.

Grams at Disneyland.
She is where my mom gets her trooperness.
