baby mobile

can you see it?

i'm going to remove all this netting and then place some beautiful hand stitched somethings. . .animals...or the house from the UP movie, or maybe some hearts, or some shapes, or........ you guys, i have a serious problem.  i have all these ideas...but then i just can't decide which one would be the MOST awesome.  so instead, we have nothing, just wonderful ideas aching to become real.  SERIOUSLY, i feel so stressed about this...why can't i just make up my mind?

it really is easier to make things for other people, like this one.  see, my cute cousin is a cowgirl and her son is naturally a cowboy, so it was easy!

sometimes, i wonder, who am i?  in my mind i'm thinking "harmony, you know, some people could just like normal things."

and then i come up with things like this:

help friends.

help.

smooth criminal

so i'm walking down our cousin's driveway, it's a little icy so i'm wary.  i look up to see a truck coming down the road.

truck is now in front of driveway.

i slip.

somehow, i did the splits (which is not something i normally can do. EVER.) while still holding on to my bread.

i quickly stand up.
i bow to the truck

i've been known to do cool things from time to time.

to book a showing. . .please e-mail me at . . .

forever young. or old.

(this is from the husband's facebook page i just needed a record)

We haven't met all of our new neighbors yet. So this morning as we are shoveling snow, our neighbor comes over to introduce himself. After shaking my hand he gestures toward Harmony (wearing a pink pompom hat and moon boots) and asks, "Is this your daughter?"

I tell him Harmony is my wife...awkward pause... He then asks how long we've been married. "Seven years."...awkward pause..."Well, it was nice meeting you!"

So, i guess either I look like a 52-year-old, or Harmony looks like she's 9.

As many pieces as possible.

Spats. Proves a point

Often times, my husband does not appreciate my wardrobe.
Who are we joking...All the time.
But I know, somewhere deep down inside...he loves it.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have married.
I feel my style has gotten a little more refined over the years.

HAHA.

So, today, he was commenting how my outfit today was super weird.
Which... I'll admit, my hair was a MESS, so as doo rag will do.
But I said, "I bet if I walked into the mall, somebody would totally comment on how cute it was. "
(because, this has happened on multiple occasions, where I go out in public in an outfit that just makes him cringe, but inevitably, someone always comments how cute it is.  Complete Strangers mind you.)

So he says "I bet if I were to take your photo and send it to your sisters, they would say it was weird."

Game ON.

Hali immediatly calls and says how CUTE it is. (She did say my hair thing was weird, but as I said, it was unruly)

Still waiting on the status of Hannah. (Also commented on my hair.)

Overall.

 I feel I win.

Except for this outfit may be a little weird.

Confidence...that's all you need.

Membil

We've been a little busy with this and that.
That includes this (my new makings blog)
and that (my easy shop).

I've wanted to make a blog of all my random creations.
So, I finally started one!

Camping with siblings.

Logan Canyon

Awkward hali

My first experience getting to put the lighter fluid on myself.
Kona was not excited.

Of course we didn't bring a hatchet, so Hali improvised, with rocks.
We always seem to have a picture with Hali in this pose.

This is as sporadic as The Husband gets.

Our attempt at awkward family photos.  Jan wouldn't join us.

Fat Kona.

Jan and Hannah apparently decided to be twins.

Camping with the Fam is always an adventure!

Causey, why have we been only once this year?

Do you like The Kona's life vest?
It's funny how people think that Labs don't swim.
Kona will swim for hours if we let her.

Showing off my diving skill, while the Kona shows off her lifeguarding skills.

What a lab.

It's always so lovely to see you Causey.
Hope we can meet soon again.

What have we been doing?

Well, mainly, my hair and I.

We spent a lot of time bonding throughout the world together.
Swirling in the wind, tangling into massive knots, getting food squashed into it.
Until. . .

we had a fight, which I won.
We decided to give most of my hair to Locks of Love.
Except for I hadn't quite forgiving it completely. . . .

Ah. Now the hair is completely forgiven.

The latest in our life, as by the Han.

My older sister, Harmony (the short, spunky, sassy one) has gone a bit weirdy lately with her food choices. I don't remember the last time I went home and we had normal food. This weekend:

Me: Why have you gone weird? And how long is it going to last? I'm sick of waffles made with flax seed.
Harmony: With a name like Harmony it was going to happen sooner or later. Deal with it.
Me: Ugh.
   later...
Me: Do we have any Otter Pops?
Harmony: No, do you want a spinach smoothie? It has fruit in it.
Me: Fruit and spinach? No thanks, I would like an Otter Pop.
Harmony: Let me make you a smoothie.
Derek: We have some Otter Pops in the freezer.
Me: Hurray!
Harmony: No! Let me make you a smoothie.
Me: Noooo. Harm, Otter Pops are delicious, they make the world go 'round.
Harmony: Yeah, round.
   ...delayed response...
Me: HA! That WAS funny! Very clever, good one.
Harmony: I know, I know. So let me make you a spinach smoothie.
Me: Nope, got an Otter Pop, I'm gonna go eat it with Kona.
Little sister, Hali (the long-haired exotic-looking one), was also home this weekend. I wanted to watch Swamp People (a story for another day), Harmony wanted to reupholster a couch, Derek wanted to do...something (probably a nerdy computer game), and Hali...well...
Hali: Coooooome outside and sit with me!
Harmony: How 'bout we do my couch!
Derek: Neither of those sound fun.
Hali: Buuuuuut it's nice outside. Anana, come outside with me.
Me: Meh...I want to cuddle with The Kona and watch Swamp People.
...a few minutes passed, Hali disappeared and the rest of us went about what we were previously doing.
Harmony: Where is Hali?
Me: I dunno...
...I went to the front room and looked out the window...
Hahaha. Of course, we laughed and took photos before joining her, it was just so cute and precious...gotta love the baby of the family. She was sooooo happy and wanted nothing more than to use her new hammock. Coincidentally, she was reading one of the crazy food books that Harmony has been reading.

And the reason I love my family? After sitting outside and talking for a while, Harmony did make us weird smoothies (which I fed to Kona), I helped her reupholster her couch, and then we watched Swamp People all together! Swamp People has become a recent obsession which I will explain in further detail at a later date.

The rest of the weekend was spent helping out in the yard and garden at G-Ma Oka's where I skillfully pruned her bonsai trees into practically perfect spheres. I wielded that electric pruner with great talent. Unfortunately, Grandma is getting up there in years and is no longer able to come outside. Such a shame that she was not there to kibitz that I missed a spot here or there like tradition holds. Or to tell me how lucky I am to have the miracle of electricity, because years ago she did this by hand with naught but some hand sheers.
And what about Kona, you ask? What did one of the most featured characters on this blog do with her weekend? The usual: laid around, went with us everywhere and watched us work.

Delicate Arch in Moab

It's almost breathtaking when you come around the ledge on the cliff and see this giant arch.. . and then all the hundreds of people there too.  Sigh. Makes for a hard picture.

What's a trip without me crocheting a headband.

This isn't the nicest picture of me, maybe I look so sick because of all the "boys" running around without their shirts on for pictures...they could have at least been muscly.

The Husband can take some pretty pictures when I can get him to take the photos!

And then sometimes not!
This is a direct result of having long hair and not washing/brushing/do anything with it.

This is the ledge right before the Arch.

Get ready.

So this picture seems a little out of place right?
Well apparently not to the little 6 year old kid hiking...we're just walking down the trail when all of a sudden crazy kid is holding this creature.  The legs are eerily swinging and I swear I saw his head and eyes stare me down.   Yes, I'm still having nightmares.
We took a couple pictures of the kid, but he was too far away...if only we had our camera out and ready for when he passed by.

Petroglyphs...these are much nicer than some others I've seen.  Just some nice Big horn sheep and horses, not at all like the last pornographic ones in Zion's.

It is time.

Ta-DA!
The Kona, Derek and I have decided to adopt.
(Yes, Kona has a big say in this.)
We don't know when.
We're hoping all of our friends and family will help that "when" get here faster. Ü
All the stories we hear about adoption is that "a friend of a friend knew someone."  So please help spread the word!  We've been so lucky to spend this time with just us, but now we are ready to add a sibling for The Kona.

We have a link to the right!

Hiking Lion's Mouth on Pinto Road.

Well, we hiked all around Lion's Mouth, only to never find it.
But don't worry, we loved it anyway.

Derek viewing his birthing land. How he loves Southern Utah.
"Birthing" is a term that Caleb (friend) introduced me with.
It's funny.

It's a good thing the Nelson's have kids, because otherwise, this hike would have not been quite as funny.

Stephanie, just before she realized she hadn't eaten breakfast or dinner, from the night before.
Gena, just before she realized her pregnant self didn't want to trump around a mountain with no end in sight.

Dead tree that I liked.

Grandma and Grandpa trudging up the mountain.

Another dead tree i liked.

Oh, look another one.

Caleb, exhausted from trudging up said steep mountain.

Logan : "This is quite a view!" Yes, that's what he said.

Hanging out with uncle D, on a rather large boulder. Where they through smaller boulders from the bigger bolder trying to smash another dead tree.
