Family Time in Iowa
My Grandpa saved a bunch of slides. Look how handsome they are!
My dad when he graduated high school...he was SO little!
Sweet Grandpa.
Hannah has been doing genealogy work. One of the lines goes clear back to Adam and Eve! Grandpa was just baffled. We are descendants of Kings of Prussia, England and all sorts of Europeans!
My dad's favorite cake! German Chocolate!
It's always fun going to Iowa, it's amazing how different it is. We have conversations about trains (grandpa loves trains, he even owned a shop). We talk about trucking, big machinery and Harley Davidson. Oh, and about corn and soy beans. It's amazing how the midwest is so different from our dry desert.
This family is all about the rocking chairs. In this room we have 4 rocking chairs alone.
Brothers.
We were able to have a four generation picture!
Even though we missed our mountains, Hannah pointed out that in the Midwest, there is SO much more sky. It's so true.
I felt the need to take a picture of grandpa's oven and stove top. It works like a charm and shines like it was new.
Isn't he cute!?
We had lots of fun visiting the family.

good theatre company
man, i just wish all of you could know the Alicia Washington. she's extremely uplifting and makes me want to be a oh so better person in the community and THE WORLD.
she treated us to Lucky Slice Pizza on 25th Street in Ogden.
which, i can't tell you the last time i ate a slice of pizza with cheese (lactose intolerant people), let alone a pesto potato pizza...IT WAS AMAZING.
the lovely alicia owns Good Company Theatre on 25th Street. i'm so proud of her! i used to go watch all the school plays which usually included her being the lead. she even got ME to be in musical.
alicia always introduces me to new and beautiful things. this time we got to see The Queen Bee shop. they have a kids shop upstairs where i'm pretty sure Aiko needs these stacking blocks.
the picture on the right is for you hannah.
i love all these cards with texture and color!
i just want to buy all of these and frame them all!
we decided to try some chocolates from The Queen Bee.
i assure you, we will be back.
thanks alicia!

i wanted to go to the drive-in movie
but he wanted to see Superman.
let's face it, you can't really see such a movie without some awesome speakers.
i was trying to get him to actually pay for the photo booth, but i failed.
so we took our own...in the photo booth.
decided to take some pictures with Louie and Marilyn.
after the movie, there was NO ONE in this side of the mall. it was slightly creepy, so i felt the need to have a picture.

cedar rapids, iowa
while in iowa, we spent a TON of time driving. if you haven't been to iowa, just think about corn and soy beans EVERYWHERE! but luckily, we had great end destinations. like the main street in cedar rapids.
it was wonderfully cute. if miss wonderful vintage was local....sigh, if only! they had all these amazing vintage dresses at such a good deal too.
this furniture! UGH, it was even well priced. so far away!
i love yarn!
while we were in the cupcake shop a girl stopped me and asked if I was on a plane two days ago...i said yes. apparently, she was on the same flight and sat in the row behind me! i even remembered her because of her hot pink shorts. such a small world, especially since i went to a town 120 miles away.
sometimes, you just need a break from traveling.
we went to an antique shop in cedar rapids...and i am still thinking about this head. i really have a thing for colored glass and this just screams me. i'm still debating about calling and having them just ship it.
if any of you ever see this..buy it for me!
Dear Cedar Rapids. You are amazing. I wish you were closer.
