mummies of the world?

so, technically, you aren't allowed to take pictures of the mummies. but they did have some art exhibits and some other children type museum, so we took plenty of pictures there.

some of you may know, the husband is actually an art major hidden behind his nerdiness

here, the husband is a little irritated...he doesn't care for the camera too much.

apparently, this is showing your brain in action.

here is one of my favorite pictures!  too bad she isn't in focus...but you get the point.

always fun traveling through salt lake city!

from a few weeks ago

miss laney is leading the water in a dazzling finale

yes, there were a little cold after.  but it's all in the name of fun right?

where are you summer?!

i've been deeply contemplating the complexion of my child.  you see, i am wondering if she will tan or if she will be like her dad (who bakes to a crisp in five minutes.)  so come on warm weather!  let's be friends.

oh yes, you may also see our christmas tree...still sitting on the porch.  the husband got fed up with it and threw it unceremoniously over the rail.  rest in peace beloved tree.

hmmm, apparently, the kona's feet are photo bombing as well.

a little into aiko's world.

i found these pictures pretty amusing actually. she didn't even seem to mind.  i think she just loves interacting with other children!

she loves hanging out with cousins!

so when kona is older

the kona may be a little less noticed around here.

but we still find random excuses to buy her treats.

its a chicken stick...it slightly grosses me out.

the kona still spends a lot of time with the husband.  it's called carpet time.

you can see the kona is distraught.  this baby has infiltrated her carpet time with the husband.

buy that trike!

she's so bent over that i wonder how she can walk.

i'm sure you know who i'm talking about.  she walks down highway 193 everyday. i wonder where she works?  i've seen many people stop and try to give her a ride.  today, she was just a few steps away, i wanted to ask her if she needed a ride.

i didn't.

coralee has watched this woman walk by her business for years.  rain or shine she walks. coralee has asked her multiple times if she wanted a ride.  she always says no. coralee says it's amazing how many people stop and ask if she needs a ride. coralee said that she used to ride a three wheeled bike.

until someone stole it.

i think we should try to get her a new bike.

remember how we went to the zoo for the morning?

well, these crazies decided to go to Disneyland for the night.

here we are on the trolley, the husband is pretty excited.

it's the happiest place on earth right?

wrong.

still wrong.

very wrong.

it only got worse on "it's a small world." she screamed for the majority of the ride.  the husband is trying to show his mean face.  see the slight curl of lip and nose?  yes people, this is his "mean" face.

it's pretty ruthless.  a couple people have said that perhaps she was mad because "her hat was too small."

at least these two were happy!

second first visit

after a good night sleep, she was a much happier baby!

although...she did wake up a couple times during the night (which never happens at home.) so i was a little tired that morning.

the night before, i felt that it was absolutely necessary to purchase her first set of mickey ears.  then, i found these miniture ears that can be used as a headband, hair clip or key chain.  i love multi-purpose items!  i wanted to get her name embroidered...but alas, they were too small.  so instead, i will stitch her name and then, i'm going to use them as christmas ornaments.  like i said people, i love multi-purpose items.

oh splash mountain.  how we love thee.

we weren't originally planning on going to disneyland...so i feel very out of place without my disney attire.  (i'm still a little distraught over it.) otherwise i would have purchased the baby a shirt earlier.

luckily, hannah had an extra shirt for the husband and the baby had a polka dot outfit i had packed.

so, you may notice that the husband and i are wearing matching glasses.  well, that's because they are the same glasses.  i've always wanted glasses, but it seemed silly to buy some without a prescription.  luckily, hannah had some glasses which she has never worn.  so she popped out the lenses and i was good to go! because, that's not a silly solution right?

as we were driving to disneyland that morning i was wearing my new found glasses and the husband requested to wear them (what?!? who are you and what have you done with my husband?!)  he wore them around most of the day and looks quite smashing i should say.

i had never planned on taking such a little baby to disneyland, mainly because, well, i am selfish.  i didn't want to sit around while everyone else was out riding roller coasters.  well, come to find out, it's really not as bad as i thought.  because i got to hand out with my super cute baby in the happiest place on earth!

get ready for mass amounts of photos.

i love these old photo booths, so i pay whatever obscene amount of money for them.  (plus, the husband doesn't believe in printing photos ... dang technology.)

so, this dog is apparently this cheetah's friend. best friend.

this little kid was SUPER excited to see this hippo, as was i.  i happened to be on the hippo first and the kid tried to photobomb my kodak moment. luckily, his parents were like "get out of her photo!!"

here i am alone, with the hippo. but by this time, i just felt awkward that my 27 year old self (although i may look 15) just got a kid in trouble for wanting to play on the hippo.

my husband has a thing for reptiles. not my favorite by any means.

oh and what's this? well, you see, my husband doesn't pay attention to others really.  hannah took this picture and she has an extremely large lens, so he really is much further that it seems.  sometimes, i like to just stop and wait, until the husband remembers his little family.  which, he's usually super far away at this point.

these guys were the highlight of the whole zoo to me!  some of them were brought into the zoo in 1928 and are still alive!  my grandparents probably saw them back them too.  i found this fascinating for some reason.

i've been prepping the little raptor for this trip.  everyday, we try to go on a "stroll."  we have to say "stroll" because otherwise the kona gets too excited about it.  so she just sat in her stroller like a champ.  she slept a lot of the time in it too. guys, i'm starting to feel like a real live parent.

this guy seems so uncomfortable.  he was just balancing on his nose and his horn.

i'll admit, sometimes the zoo makes me super sad.  i mean, yes, i know it's to help preserve the species, etc.  but STILL.  sigh.

we appropiately brought the baby's bear suit and bear hat.  i wanted her to feel like she belonged.

this rare beast can be seen in utah.  looking so sad. wondering where her family went.

they have pandas! he was kind of boring.  he was munching on bamboo

these are a beloved tradition of hali.

so of course. we bought one for her penny collection.

this was only half a day of fun....more to come.

thanks to the han for taking most of the pictures.
