Walking the snow banks

We got a lot of snow. It seems like Derek calls everyday to tell me we got a foot of snow. . .
The snow banks are 6-10 feet in some places. Derek and I were walking on top of the snow banks, and suddenly Derek got stuck. He'd found a snow tunnel the neighbor kids dug! It was actually pretty dang big inside.
And since we found a snow tunnel, what else should we want, but to get Kona into this snow tunnel. After 30 minutes (literally) of coaxing/tricking Kona to come to us, after she'd dragged me through the snow, and jumped out of Derek's arms, we combined our efforts and got her in! Don't ask us why, we really don't know why the need for her to be in the snow cave with us was so important. But after we got her in, sat in the tunnel about 45 seconds, we decided to proceed with our walk around the block.
To our surprise there was another tunnel, this one all natures doing! The neighbors had not cleared off the sidewalks, and they have some large, floofy, bushes that we leaning over the sidewalks, creating an arch with their branches. So, we got on our knees and crawled through...it was about 15 feet long of climbing...hopefully no dogs had a chance to do their business....
Derek does not like taking walks with me when there is snow...
So, to prepare him, I made him get his snow stuff on, because really, who wouldn't push another person in the snow banks while walking? So another 40 minutes later, we finally made it home. I was the wettest/snow crusted person of course.

New Camera=hundreds of Kona Pictures

As many of you know, Circuit City is going out of business, which means Derek has gone twice now to look at all the deals. . . Derek does not go shopping, so twice to the same store, because he wants too is a bid deal.

Expand this picture, Kona's face is priceless!!!! And yes, that is a very large grapefruit (pumelo) 4 for 6 bucks.

Second time in, we finally decided to buy a camera for our birthdays. Before this purchase, we had 3 cameras. Now, I know you're wondering why we needed another. . . let me explain.
Camera number 1 takes film and I got it when I was 13....
Camera number 2 has like 2 mega pixels, and works sometimes
Camera number 3 was a good camera until Derek ran it over on one of our first dates and smashed the screen. And since the camera would only take pictures once in a great while, and sometimes come out, plus the screen didn't work, and beeped randomly, how is this really any different from camera number 1?
Also, what does one do with old cameras that kind of work?

So, we've been taking a lot of pictures. It's already an improvement, usually Kona is so shiny the pictures don't come out. Have a jolly day.

Grandparents in our Twenties

Hopefully this does not offend anyone, it's not intended too, I just wanted to share some thoughts and experiences so my posterity will be able to read our blog in years to come. . .

Derek and I have been married for a little over 3 1/2 years, and for some reason, since August 5, 2005, people have constantly asking when we are having kids. Now, it's expected from family (obviously, a God given right), but Derek was getting a haircut the other day, and the stylist asked how long we'd been married etc. She was astounded we had been married soooo long and didn't have kids! She then proceeded to ask if I was baby hungry crazy...(really?!)

I've been asked multiple times by people in the ward, old high school friends whom I haven't seen in 5 years etc. Think about it, isn't it kind of personal question? I was at Target the other day and a ran into a high school friend and in our 3 minute conversation she'd already asked when I was having kids. I know we are in Utah, and I'm not saying that it is bad to have kids soon after you're married, but it's not bad to not have kids after 3.5 years of marriage!

Derek and I were talking about how we're like grandparents. All our friends either are single or have babies, multiples, cousins all have babies, and we adore them...

I mean really?! Look how cute all these kids are! (If I don't have your child's pic posted, I still love them too) But really, it's fun to buy toys and clothes for nephews, cousins, and friends babies! We get to play with the chillins, and then when they poop, we can hand them right back! Spoiling them is quite fun.

(These are Chelsee's kids, before I even knew her, I had wanted to steal their little boy! Look at that hair!)

Japanasia! And Moon Boots

Kind of a long blog....But as the camera is only downloaded so often...What can you do?

My good friend Stacie called and left a very excited voicemail...Something along the lines of "Harmony I bought . . . . and I think we should eat on the floor. . . . and you should wear your chopsticks and then draw lines on your eyes again . . . . " I leave ...there because I have no idea what she was talking about. After I get to talk to her, we've decided that we are going to have an asian day, because she bought potstickers and remembered how I used to draw lines on my eyes with eyeliner. . . Someday I'll have to find a picture to show. It was Awesome.

So here we are, authenic with our costumes as well! Much to Derek's dismay, I made him wear my mom's robe, we dressed up, and ate on a lowered floor. Caleb and Melinda came as Korean folk, and little Corbin came as an authentic Korean boy, dressed as an American with a Dragon Ball Z Shirt plus spikey hair! Miller Version Here

Stacie and Mitch brought the potstickers, and with it we had some Korean Beef, stirfry, tofu, rice, and my favorite, Fortune Cookies (Stacie is Brilliant). I even tried making a Japanese dessert called Monju....but alas, it didn't work out very well....

This outfit here is from Saturday Night. Hali had a Tip Toe to Asia at Utah State, and somehow I got swung into the fashion show. The Kimono here belonged to one of Hali's friends, her aunties dressed me up, and tied the Obi (yes I know some Japanese words) extremely tight. . . .

So for all you out there that don't believe in the Japaneseness of Us, here you have been proved wrong!

The True Moon Boot (Or Powerpuff feet)

Hali and I recently purchase MOON BOOTs. Obviously, you can tell I am very excited about these boots. I admit, they are kind of ugly and strangely shaped and even have suction cups on the bottom, hence the serious reasons I bought them.

We decided to test out the Moon Boots with a snow hike. Here, Kona is awed by the pure Awesomeness of them.

Hali and I posing the Moon. . .Notice the uncanny similarities of our faces...Weird.

Mama, the original Moon Booter....Almost 24 years old.

Mama and Hali at a cave on the hike....We really went maybe 1/2 mile before we decided that was enough trying out the boots.

The back of the boots. Notice the unmistakable label, and they even have reflectors! Eat your hearts out! It's true, even Derek has moon boots, hand me downs from Shawn's gay uncle, turquoise and a navy blue. We are a true Moon Boot Family.

You might be cheap if....

You walk around the entire store checking out the mark down bins.
90% of what you purchase has a yellow and orange sticker on it.
You'll buy a flavor of Martinelle's because it's got the yellow and orange sticker.
You have no fear of the expiration date from the mark down bins.
The checker looks all over your Cheerios box (no imitations please) absolutely, sure there is a markdown sticker somewhere.

So, people might be right that we are cheap.......
